In the tradition of British weddings, you may be thinking about what to get us by way of a present. Well, firstly, your presence is present enough, and secondly if you’d like to help out a young couple with a future nest-building project, we’d very much appreciate donations to our new-family-of-two fund.

For those who would like to present us with a present, we've decided on a few more tangible ideas. As we don’t yet own our home, we’re reluctant to specify now which of our sorry collection of student-era furniture and accessories we will need to upgrade. We’re hoping to buy a house in the near future and would rather use your gifts when the need is greater.

So, vouchers for John Lewis would definitely be very useful as we intend to spruce up our eventual home. The best way to do this is on-line to avoid us losing vouchers in the blur of the day. Gift list number: 293876, open from the 16th February.

Alternatively, as we're honeymooning in the Med, a fistful of euros would buy us a fantastic romantic dinner for two overlooking the crashing sea from a Mallorcan mountaintop, or two.
